Dior
hi family, I signed up for some makeup thing at the mall last week, and I went today and had my makeup done by someone else for the first time ever lolol. It was some kind of Dior beauty event, so I got to try their skincare products and then get my makeup done.
I'm ashamed to admit, I bought quite a few of the products that the sales consultant used; there were 3 products I wanted that weren't in stock tho 😿💔. I also got some free sample size items for having signed up.
I got the serum, and I've been using it the last couple days now, I really like it! The best way I can describe the effect it's had is, it's made my skin more doughy, like the oil is more balanced.
After the basic facial I had my makeup done. I really liked the sales consultant that was doing all of this, Marlen, she's older and from somewhere in Europe; she's been with the brand for decades, so she got my shade matched first try. She applied it with a much lighter hand than I ever do for my own makeup, so it being a thinner layer, it matched better. I still need to.... figure out how to use real foundations.. I use BB creams and they're a different overall thickness/weight.
I really liked how she did my eye makeup :-3. I don't use cream/stick eyeshadows because my eyelids fold a lot and I have a lot of brow fat(…?), but they had just gotten shimmery eyeshadow sticks, so she used those on me. The gradation she did was different from what I've been doing, and honestly, I liked how she did it more!!
I got my favorite color that she used, and I've been using it this last week, and I really do like it a lot. I kind of want to get some of the other colors. There was a really dark brown that was shimmery... I'm thinking about it...
But the detail I liked the most, she used an indigo colored eyeliner for my bottom lash line. It looked almost purple when she first applied it, but it definitely wasn't their blue liner. It was so cool looking! I really really wanted to get that liner, but they didn't have anymore 😿💔💔!!! ugh! I wish I could at least find something similar.
But the main thing I was looking forward to trying going into this was the lip products. Every time I want to try any of their lip products, there's never any of the colors I want! But this time they had just about everything :-3! I got one of the colored lip balm things. I'm still undecided on the color itself, but I don't think it's bad.. it's similar to other stuff I have, which is why I'm kinda unsure about it.
No lie family, I'm actually kinda mad that I liked all their stuff. Like, everything smelled really nice, but it also lasted the whole day and still looked nice, and my skin still felt nice too 😭. I didn't wanna like it 😭😭!!!! but that 100$ toner 🤤....
The only unfortunate thing, I didn't take any pictures of myself until like, midnight before I showered, and this camera still sucks. so. forgive my terrible pictures..
ok~ I feel like.. after having someone else do my makeup, there's still a lot to learn and try with products and techniques. Whether it's for gal makeup or model-esque makeup. Lots to think about (◡ ω ◡)..!
