GGxGalz set & my thoughts (◡ ω ◡)

hiii family :-3, I'd seen on insta some time ago about a nyew brand in the making and their old MA*RS inspired set that'd be coming out late February. I was saauur excited :-3。。I put 100$ aside for when it'd eventually release since the price wasn't stated anywhere before it was available to buy. Good thing I did, cus it was 75 USD, around 86 with tax. But I wore it the day I got it since I wanted to have first opinion teehee (◡ ω ◡)。。!!

nyew set 😋
everyone seemed to like the other picture more 🤔 but I thought it was ugly (◡ ω ◡)! I like this one best 🙂‍↕️!!

To start, I think the purchasing process was easy. You buy through Etsy, and both pieces are sold together, so you don't have to worry about just the top or just the skirt being sold out. Another thing I liked was that you get to choose the size for each piece. I got an xs in the top and a small for the skirt, and they fit like a standard MA*RS set. I know some people online had said they were hoping more larger sizes would be available, so maybe if this set does well we'll that in future collections :-3..!! Another complaint from my friends in the UK was that international shipping cost as much as the set itself :/.. I don't really know what could be done to remedy that tho.

As for the set itself,... I like it :-3! I think the print is very cutieful and I like the fit of these types of sets. I would give it a 6.5 or 7/10. I have a few complaints, but I still wouldn't rate it poorly, and I'm definitely gonna wear it again 😋.

To start off, when I first took it out of the packaging and unfolded it, my initial thought was, "oh it's kind of sheer :0..". I was worried the pigment of the print wasn't gonna look vibrant. The top is double-lined like the MA*RS tops of the same design, and while I wouldn't say it's a thinner feeling fabric (compared to MA*RS pieces) that it's printed on, it is a more 'sheer' fabric, however it's not noticeable in photos once you're actually wearing it 🙂‍↕️.

As far as the top goes, the straps are adjustable; one of mine is like 3 inches longer then the other lolol, but it adjusts the whole way through so you don't notice at all 🙏.

the straps aren't totally flat so you may not be able to tell, but there's a 3in difference between the two lolol

As far as the bust goes, the top of the back panel is elastic, and the front doesn't stretch. As far as the front goes, I think one issue that people may run into is the size of the chest. I'm very flat chested and can get away with not wearing a bra with this top, however the fabric actually covering your chest is fairly narrow and doesn't meet in the middle. I don't know if that's been adjusted for larger sizes, or how this may end up fitting other people, but I could see it potentially being an issue.

Another thing is the bottom of the outer fabric is sewn around something similar to fishing line or a wire in a bra in order to keep the wavy princessy shape of the top. The problem with that is how the stitching was finished. Mine wasn't finished properly and nearly an inch of that wire sticks out. yeeeoooowwch 。:゚(;´∩`;)゚:。

That was kinda just a list of complaints 🤔。。。I did like the top tho 🙂‍↕️. Well, I have some decent things to say of the skirt ( ◡` ω ◡).

One thing I really really like is that it has built in shorts! I think only 1 of my sets has built in shorts :0, that's crazy..! So I like that a lot, and I think it helps the skirt look like it fits you properly. It also has a silk waistband and zipper on the side. The zipper does kinda get caught between the 2 fabrics, but that's pretty normal. Like the top, the skirt is also double-lined; the inner layer is the same type of fabric as the waistband.

One thing that threw me off when I put it on is the fact that it's an asymmetrical hemline (I didn't realize this lol). But my reason for disliking this becomes obvious with my first complaint.. I don't like that the lace is sewn to the inner layer of the skirt, but really what I dislike, is the fact that the lace doesn't go the entire length of the skirt. It's only in the front, and on mine, it's much more obvious on the left side (the longer section) where it cuts off. I think that takes away from it's princessy look and makes it look cheap.

I also think that the asymmetrical hem looks kinda wonky; it ends up covering too much of the lace in the front while exposing a lot on the shorter side. It makes it look ill-fitting 💔.

And again like the top, each layer of the outer fabric that was sewn to wave/ruffle is sewn with the wire. On mine, where the front and back panel join together, part of it wasn't finished properly and the wire pokes out.

I almost forgot to include lolol .... the skirt also has a big bow that attaches to the back. I never keep the bows on any of mine tho since the tops always end up covering up the bow or laying weird with it 💔. The bow for this set is hot pink! and is made from a... more limp fabric than the MA*RS bows. I think it looks kind of mismatched on me, but it's still pretty kyute :-3.

To finish off, I have not a complaint, but one thing I'd like to see in future collections is a matching hair bow. I think that would really level up the overall look of the piece. And to be really extra, some of the other accessory pieces that MA*RS collections would have, like a garter or a scrunchie, things of that nature.

Overall, I like the ideas and I think it was executed pretty well. I don't know much anything about clothing manufacturing or even sewing if we're being real, so I more than likely haven't worded things properly or taken important factors in design into account, but as a consumer and MA*RS enthusiast I think sharing my thoughts might be worth something when it comes to future collections (◡ ω ◡)..

Anyways, I'm hoping to see more people's opinions on their sets and what kind of things people are hoping to see for future collections :-3..

see you next time family バイバイ😺
